Dr. Phon Sophat was born in 1986 in Prey Veng province, and he holds his first PhD in Economics in 2019 from Thammasat University, Thailand with BOT/ADB scholarship. Currently, he is the second PhD candidate in International Development from Nagoya University, Japan, with Nagoya University Scholarship from 2023 to 2026. He graduated his two master’s degrees: first Master degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Cambodia and second Master degree in Management in 2013 from Lublin University of Technology, Poland with Erasmus Mundus scholarship, European Union. He has jointed many national and international conferences and speakers to many well-known institutions such as UNESCAP, NBC, Sophia University, Japan, and Konrad international, Germany and so on. Dr. Phon ‘s filed of research falls into microfinance, econometrics, business and macroeconomics. His main focus is econometric applied on the modelling of economic trends on the macro levels. Currently, He has authored more than 20 research papers and books. He is professor at National University of Myanmar, Global campus, Royal Academy of Cambodia, Cambodia, Human Resource University and RULE-Lumiere Lyon2 University, France, for undergraduate and graduate levels. His current position is CLO in Econometrics, Institute of Banking Studies, Cambodia. He has been teaching at higher educational levels for nearly 20 years in the relevant fields.
I have jointed this dual program in RULE-Lumière Lyon2 university since 2019 in the major of Econometrics. To improve the quality of education in Cambodia, this course is very comprehensive to students who can learn and equip well on the data analysis and modelling the econometric techniques in their quality of research and work’s need. Additionally, this course is also added up with some technological programs such as STATA, R and other python in order to meet the quality and market ‘s needs. I have had many teaching experiences and adviser at PhD and Master levels at many well-known universities and schools such as Royal Academy of Cambodia (RAC), Human Resource University, National University of Myanmar (NUM), Global Campus, Limkokwing University, NUCK, The university of Cambodia, RUA and Institute for Banking Studies (IBS), NBC. I do like teaching at RULE in this international program which help to share my knowledges to students and society. What I have commented on the students’ disciplines should be stricter and the hours of teaching should be more than 18 hours per courses.
