CAREER FORUM 2026

On Wednesday, April 30, 2026, the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) organized its 2026 Career Forum, bringing together students, alumni, professionals, and institutional partners for a morning rich in exchanges, inspiration, and opportunities. Throughout the morning, the event mobilized a large number of participants and reaffirmed RULE’s commitment to building bridges between academic training and the professional world.

The morning began with opening remarks from representatives of RULE, the French Embassy in Cambodia, and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).

The representative of the French Embassy, Ms. Elodie WYNAR, highlighted the importance of the Francophonie as a vector for academic mobility, multilingual education, and professional opportunities for Cambodian students. She emphasized the role of French-language training in equipping graduates with internationally recognized skills, opening doors to careers in France as well as within the broader Francophone world.

Mr. IM Kravong, representing the AUF, presented the SNEE (National Student-Entrepreneur Status), officially launched in March 2026 by RULE in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, with the support of the AUF. This national status, unprecedented in Cambodia, allows students to balance their higher education with the development of an entrepreneurial project. It provides official recognition, personalized support, and a structured three-level pathway going from the initial idea to an active business.

The panel discussion formed the heart of the event, structured around the theme: “Building your professional future: internships, international mobility, and entrepreneurship as strategic levers.”

Three speakers took the floor:

  • Mr. SAO Kunsathy: Co-founder of Eleven One Kitchen, alumnus of the French Cooperation Department in Economics and Management, and an MBA graduate from Audencia Business School (France). With a strong background in hospitality and entrepreneurship, he shared his experience of starting a business in Cambodia and the richness of his time in France.
  • Ms. CHARKREY Morkord Pok: Attorney and Legal Manager. An alumna of the French Cooperation Department in Law and holder of two master’s degrees obtained in France (University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and Paris II Panthéon-Assas), she has also been teaching at RULE since 2017. Her testimony illustrated the convergence between law, the business world, and teaching.
  • Mr. YOU Samedy: A recognized expert in skills, HR practices, and what employers truly expect from young Cambodian talents. His insights on the personal and professional qualities valued by companies were particularly constructive for the students.

The panel discussion sparked many questions from students who took advantage of the Q&A session to find answers: how to manage time at the university, how to find an internship during a bachelor’s degree, whether it is better to work or pursue a master’s degree after graduation, the difficulties of learning in French, and the skills and personality traits favored by recruiters.

From 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, the Career Forum’s booth area opened, inviting students to move freely between the stands of organizations representing a wide diversity of sectors. The participants were:

  • UCMAS Cambodia
  • Campus France
  • Timui
  • Credit Bureau Cambodia
  • Sevea
  • France Volontaires
  • DFDL
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC)
  • Public Prosecutor’s Office (Parquet)
  • BRED Bank
  • ABA Bank
  • RULE

The students were able to meet the representatives at each booth, who shared their career paths, advice, and opportunities.

One of the standout innovations of this 2026 Forum was the creation of a Career Space dedicated to employability, where companies and professionals posted their internship and job offers. Several participating organizations submitted concrete offers, allowing students to directly connect with opportunities matching their profiles.

The event concluded with a warm networking buffet, generously prepared by Eleven One Kitchen, the restaurant co-founded by speaker SAO Kunsathy. This convivial moment offered students, speakers, and professionals the opportunity to extend their conversations and build lasting connections.

RULE expresses its most sincere thanks to all the partners, companies, and professionals who made this 2026 Career Forum possible: the French Embassy in Cambodia, the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), all the companies and institutions represented at the booths, the three panel speakers, and the entire RULE team. Your generosity in time, expertise, and presence is what transforms an event into a true stepping stone for the next generation.

We also remember Mr. CHHEANG Meng Hiek, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, who passed away on the morning of the forum. His dedication to the institution and its students leaves a lasting mark on the Faculty.
