H.E. Derek Yip, Ambassador of Australia to Cambodia, Visits the Royal University of Law and Economics

On April 20th, RULE had the privilege of welcoming H.E. Derek Yip, Ambassador of Australia to Cambodia, for a courtesy visit. He was welcomed by H.E. Pr. Dr. Luy Channa, Rector of the university.

During the visit, the delegation was introduced to several departments at RULE, and exchanges focused on the academic relation between Australia and RULE, as well as future collaborative projects.

Of special interest was the 2025 Summer School organized by USYD at RULE, with 20 students registered at USYD partaking in the program, during which they were introduced to the history of Cambodian Law, where they got the chance to visit Sosoro and Tuol Sleng Museums and meet with international organizations. This shows the potential for future academic partnerships between Australian universities and RULE.

The ambassador visited the French cooperation department in law and the newly built Center for the Study of and in French language, as hallmarks of the visit.
