Frédéric Laurie is a doctor in public law (PhD) holder since 2001 writing a thesis about the disciplinary fault in the civil service. He has been appointed assistant Professor in the Université Nancy 2 before coming back in his home university, AMU. His research work today focuses on IT law in a public law perspective, including studies about data networks and protection of personal data seen from the public authorities (policy et regulation of the competition), from a judicial point of view and the question of the protection of the fundamental rights (particularly free speech). He is now a member of the national council of the universities (public law department). He has been attorney in a law firm during sixteen years. Pr. Laurie also heads the Institut de recherche et d’études en droit de l’information et de la culture (IREDIC).
