What have been your journey leading you to RULE?
My journey to RULE is rooted in both passion and purpose. With my experience in the corporate sector—particularly in finance, automotive strategy, and organizational development—I wanted to share real-world insights with the next generation of professionals. When RULE introduced its international dual master’s programs, I was invited to join the faculty to bring a practitioner’s perspective to theoretical frameworks. I believe education should not only transfer knowledge but also prepare students to think strategically and act ethically in a rapidly changing business environment.

Can you describe how the course(s) you teach are relevant in the current context?
The course I teach—Financial Accounting at RULE—is highly relevant to Cambodia’s evolving economic context. As the nation’s industries continue to modernize, there is a growing demand for professionals who can integrate global accounting standards (IFRS) with local business practices. This course prepares students to meet international expectations while remaining responsive to Cambodia’s emerging markets. Through case studies, practical exercises, and financial analysis, students gain the ability to interpret, record, and report financial data accurately, enabling them to support strategic decision-making in both private and public sectors.

Can you tell us about your experience as a teacher for an international program in Cambodia?
Teaching in an international program has been both enriching and inspiring. I particularly value the opportunity to connect global academic standards with local realities. My students come from diverse professional backgrounds, and I often use case studies drawn from my industry experience to help them understand how financial theories translate into strategic decisions. This dynamic interaction encourages critical thinking and practical application—qualities essential for success in global business environments.

What do you like the most in teaching at RULE?
What I appreciate most is the academic diversity and intellectual curiosity among students at RULE. The classroom becomes a collaborative space where I learn as much from students’ perspectives as they do from my experience. Many of my students are professionals in their own right, which allows for peer-to-peer learning, active discussion, and problem-solving based on real cases. The university’s commitment to academic excellence and international cooperation further motivates me to contribute to its mission.

Do you have any recommendations for future students and graduates?
My advice to future students is simple: learn beyond the textbook. In today’s interconnected world, success depends on combining technical expertise with strategic insight, ethics, and adaptability. Engage actively with your lecturers, challenge ideas, and apply what you learn in practical contexts. RULE’s international programs provide an incredible opportunity to build not just academic knowledge but also a global mindset—a crucial asset for those who aspire to lead Cambodia’s next stage of economic transformation.
