RULE Delegation Visits University College Cork for a Doctoral Capacity-Building Project

From April 5th to April 11th, a delegation from the Royal University of Law and Economics-RULE (Official) conducted a mission at the University College Cork in the context of a capacity-building project for the launch of the doctoral school at RULE. RULE Vice-Rector for doctoral studies, Pr. Hap Phalthy, Pr. Sreang Sim and Asst. Pr. Paul Mornet participated on behalf of RULE, and were welcomed by Pr. McINTYRE Owen and Dr. Fiona Donson from UCC.

The mission comprised of several meetings with key stakeholders from UCC doctoral programs in law, with a summary of these activities below:

-Tuesday April 7th – Meeting with Pr. Orla Lynch, Dean of Doctoral Studies at UCC;

-Wednesday April 8th 2026 – PhD Symposium at UCC

-Thursday April 9th 2026 – Meeting with Dr. Bernard Long, Pr. of Legal Theory;

-Thursday April 9th 2026 – Meeting on AI and Ethics with Rebecca Leigh & Loretta Goff;

-Thursday April 9th 2026 – Meeting with Law School Leads on Graduate Studies – Pr. Olufemi Amao and Dr. Jonathan McCarthy;

-Thursday April 9th 2026 – Meeting with UCC Vice-President for Learning and Teaching, Pr. Paul McSweeney;

-Friday April 10th 2026 – Guest Lectures on ASEAN as a distinct form of regionalism (Paul Mornet) and Cambodian legal system (Hap Phalthy);

-Friday April 10th 2026 – Meeting on Legal Methodology, with Dr. Adrian Aronsson-Storrier.
