Center for Khmer Studies

The Center for Khmer Studies is a non-governmental institution that aims to facilitate research, knowledge sharing and insights on topics related to Cambodia’s social, economic and cultural development. It also strives to strengthen research and teaching capacities in the social sciences and humanities as they relate to Cambodia and SouthEast Asia.

As the French Cooperation Department shares common values and objectives with the Center for Khmer Studies, we have been naturally led to initiate and to sustain collaboration on various projects and initiatives. For instance, our researchers are currently involved in an initiative of the Center for Khmer Studies willing to develop a training program in order to reinforce the research capacities of young Cambodian researchers. More broadly, the French Cooperation Department and the Center for Khmer Studies are in a continuous and close relationship to work on themes like entrepreneurship, social and solidarity economy, sustainable development or urbanization.
